Road leading toward the quarters, office, plant, etc. Photographer was standing at intersection of swamp road and pumphouse road. House on left was occupied at various times by the Banks, Wheat, Thornhill, and Grey families (house #80 or #78 on old map). The mailbox indicates that the picture was made before Brownville had a post office. (Check out the wooden water tank. I suppose it supplied water for the steam engine. Also the old store can be seen in the far background).
